De-silting of Existing Water Bodies and Strengthening of Water User Association.

TATA TRUSTS and Yuva Mitra have implemented drought-proofing work in six blocks of Nashik District in collaboration with district administration. The main objectives of the programs are –

1. To de-silt 85 CuM silt from Existing Water Bodies to increase water holding capacity and percolation for benefit of 324 villages for drinking and agriculture water security.

2. To increase soil fertility of land by silt deposition.

3. Convergence with Govt. of Maharashtra’s, “Galmukt Dharan v Galyukt Shivar”, “Jalyukt Shivar” and “Doubling farmers income” Programs.

4. To establish and strengthen 60 Water User Association for management of water.
