A new Mobile App is all set to be launched as a free, interactive platform between the citizens and their elected representatives in Kerala. The idea of the App is to facilitate accessibility interface between citizens and all the three tiers of elected representatives – viz. local body, legislative assembly and parliament – as envisaged under the Constitution of India.

Currently, the app is developed as a single platform for all the 140 constituencies where each MLA will have her/his own page to keep them connected with the citizens. The general public can use the app to register their complaints and share their opinions, concerns and issues related to constituency development and better governance. The app gains more significance as the pandemic has literally confined the possibility of meeting the authorities for any specific cause. Through the app, citizens get a better platform to voice their concerns and gather opinions in the form of likes/shares from others through the discussion forums. The voters will soon have options to book/schedule appointments with MLA to discuss more critical matters. This feature, along with many others, will be launched in the next phase.

The MLAs, in turn, can use the app to inform the voters about all the developmental activities that occur in their constituency. All updates about the ongoing and future projects can also be shared using this app. This will additionally aid in obtaining suggestions for improvement from the public and making them a natural part of the nation-building process. They can also use the app as a means to manage their PR activities. This app certainly offers an excellent means of staying connected with who matters the most to the elected representative-their voters.

The app is conceived and developed by d’Katia Software Technologies Pvt Ltd. It is created in a manner that all the complaints, suggestions and feedback for every MLAs of a particular state can be viewed in a single place. This will be a significant step towards connecting the gap between the general public and their MLAs as they will be able to understand the real concerns and issues of their voters in their own words. The App will be upgraded in the future to include the other two tiers of Constitutionally envisaged elected representatives.

To ensure a conducive environment for its users, the app is backed by Artificial Intelligence enabled system and automatically removes all malignant content. Users will not be able to use the platform for posting any content which has harmful, abusive, threatening or illegal nature. Further, each user will be verified through system generated One Time Password (OTP) and other security measures. All users will have to comply with the terms and conditions of the app and agree to act in a venerable manner.

The app will be available on Playstore by next week and will soon be launched in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. As part of the company’s expansion plans app will be launched nationwide in a few months, as it is expected to be a game-changer in the country’s development process.
