Her morning walks to the office had taken on a new cadence since she started counting her steps. An Android smartwatch, a passive-aggressive gift from her mother to her single daughter for Chanukah, was now entrenched in her daily life. It was a cold morning and her cheeks were beginning to flush. She wondered when it would get warmer, looked down at her wrist, tapped on Runway and knew: there would be sun.
