SHE+ Description

Sexual Health Education Plus (SHE+) is a mobile platform created by Savana Signatures that offers youth, young people and young adult the opportunity to access free Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) information through Short Message Service (SMS) using their mobile phones. This platform is opened to all young people irrespective of their location in the country but currently operational in the Northern Region as a project. It uses four main strategies including a SHE+ Call Centre, SHE+ Mobile App, SHE+ WhatsApp Platform and SHE+ Facebook page - @sheplusghana. The project provides opportunity for young people in Ghana to access private and confidential Sexual Reproductive and Health Rights information and services through direct interaction with health professionals on the various platforms.

Through the Call Centre, young people are easily referred to health facilities to access Youth Friendly Health Services on their Sexual Reproductive Health and Right’s needs.

The WhatsApp platform gives young people an opportunity to learn and share with their peers on SRHR related issues. Members on these platforms have the opportunity to ask questions, solicit for information and openly express their opinions in a responsible manner. Members also have the opportunity to private chat for assistance if they do not feel comfortable discussing their private issues on the main page. The SHE+ Mobile Application Platform offer young people an opportunity to access more SRHR content on the experiences of their peers in relation to Sexual Harassment, violence in relationship, family relationship, menstrual challenges among others. The Mobile App displays the following features; contacts of the call centre, group conversations, links to the Facebook platforms, www.youngvoices.news and a feedback session.
