Soil Test Simulator basato su diverse teorie geotecniche.
ShansApp is a soil test simulation (triaxial) app for fast and visual simulations based on the SHANSEP and the Critical State (CS) model theory to calculate the undrained shear strength of cohesive soils (clay and peat). Whether you use ShansApp for educational purposes or as a geotechnical engineer simulating a undrained triaxial soil test, there’s no need for a complex computer programme. With ShansApp you just enter the parameters and simulate on the go! – download the app and simulate your first mobile soil test today!
Simulating a soil test is simple – here’s how it works:
• Just open the app and select one of the three simulations mentioned below
• Enter the soil and state parameters and press 'Simulate'
• You’ll now see your own simulation graphs and the calculated undrained shear strength, all in SI-units.
• Start sliding the sliders to see how your model changes
ShansApp includes the following 3 simulations:
• SHANSEP model:
Simple undrained triaxial compression test (CU) simulation to calculate the undrained shear strength (Su). The input requires only 2 soil parameters {undrained shear strength ratio (S) and ocr-exponent (m)}, and only 2 state parameters {vertical effective stress (s’v) and preconsolidation stress (s’pc)}. The output menu presents the SHANSEP curve and it contains a slider feature to vary the vertical stress. Finally it plots the vertical effective stress (s’v), overconsolidation ratio (OCR) and undrained shear strength.
• CSR model:
Undrained triaxial compression test (CUAC) and extension (CUAE) simulations to calculate the undrained shear strength and undrained shear strength ratio. The graphs show all stress paths, and sliders to change the overconsolidation and anisotropy. The input requires 6 soil parameters: {critical state friction angle (Phi), compression ratio (CR), swelling ratio (RR), elastic poisson ratio (v_ur), critical stress ratio (CSR) and a radio button for no / medium / maximum anisotropic strength}. The model requires also 3 state parameters {initial vertical effective stress (s’v), initial vertical overconsolidation ratio (OCR), initial void ratio (e)}. The output menu presents the 5 graphs (p’-q’, p’-e, s’v-s;h, s’v-e and s’v-Su} and 6 output parameters {OCR power (m), vertical stress based undrained shear strength ratio in compression (S_s’v) and extension (S_es’v), undrained shear stress in compression (Su) and extension (Su_e) and anisotropic strength ratio (Ks).
• S-Clay1 model:
Undrained triaxial compression test (CUAC) and extension (CUAE) simulations to calculate the undrained shear strength and undrained shear strength ratio. After the input menu is completed the output presents the graphs with all stress paths, and sliders to change the overconsolidation and anisotropy. The input requires 6 soil parameters: {critical state friction angle (Phi), isotropic compression index (lambda), isotropic swelling index (kappa), elastic poisson ratio (v_ur), yield surface rotation (alpha) and a switch button for rotational hardening (omega)}. The model also requires 3 state parameters {initial effective isotropic stress (p’), initial isotropic overconsolidation ratio (R), initial void ratio (e)}. The output menu presents the 3 graphs (p’-q’, p’-e and p’-Su} and 7 output parameters {OCR power (Lambda), isotropic stress based undrained shear strength ratio in compression (S_p) and extension (S_ep), undrained shear stress in compression (Su) and extension (Su_e), anisotropic strength ratio (Ks) and vertical stress undrained shear strength ratio (S_s’v).
