This book is just an attempt to reaffirm what is already in the Qur'an, As-Sunnah, and found in the Jewish and Christian Bibles, that: First, the initial religion of humans was not paganism or polytheism. Second, this book examines the history of the first idols and some of the idols worshiped in the Arabian Peninsula until the time of the Prophet's preaching. Third, tracing the traces of the treatise in a number of locations outside the Arabian Peninsula, such as Mesopotamia, Persia, India, China, America, Australia, Europe, Africa and Java.

Dear readers, one of the big questions in Zairian that targets the Islamic creed is the view of religious evolution. What is meant by the theory of religious evolution?

The main idea is this; The origin of human religion is shirk. Starting from animism and polytheism, monotheism was born. He taught that the first humans had to be primitive in all aspects, including religious aspects. If it were primitive then it would be impossible for there to be a "complicated" concept of religion. This means that it is impossible for "sophisticated" monotheism to be adhered to by "backward" primitive humans. Because according to the theory of religious evolution, monotheism is a complex and sophisticated concept. Not compatible with primitive humans.

So according to the evolution of religion, the Homo Sapiens "salafs" have not been able to create such a lofty concept. Starting from this assumption, primitive humans "must" adhere to "primitive religion". Of course what is meant is not monotheism. Primitive religion is like the worship of earthly and celestial objects, or spirits, or many other forms of worship. The reason is because Homo Sapiens' reasoning at that time was still limited (read: stupid). Intellectually they have not been able to formulate the concept of monotheism.

Thus, the "suitable" religions for primitive humans were paganism and polytheism. So, human religion "must" start from shirk. Only later, along with the evolutionary process, humans (Homo Sapiens) became more capable of rationality and empirical reasoning. As a result, Homo Sapiens gradually arrived at the concept of monotheism.

This is all the impact of Darwin's theory of evolution which went viral in the 19th century. Darwin's evolutionary paradigm is actually simple: something moves from low to high. Readers can imagine a vertical line pointing upwards, from the bottom (lowly) to the top (noble). As for Muslims, the vertical line leads from top to bottom. That is, religion started from the purity of monotheism and then fell into shirk. So the historical perception of religion is "turned upside down" by this theory. In short, the emergence of religion must start from animism (lowly) to monotheism (noble), from shirk to monotheism.
