HU era un'iniziativa della Diaspora Hiraniana in Nord America ed è stata fondata

HU was initiative of Hiranian Diaspora in North America and it was established in December 2003 with support of Hiiraan University Foundation team. However, after long fund raising campaign throughout the North America, Europe, East Africa and in Hiran region, Somalia, finally HU started its opened her office in 2005 in Beledweyne and her education program began June 2006 where Foundation Course Program, which is prelude to a Bachelor degrees program were offered to its first batch of 60 students and unfortunately four month we suspended our operation due to floods that hit the town preceded by the deterioration of security. Now, since the security situation has improved, the HU completed the construction of her campus although a lot of furnishing and teaching equipments are in the process of procurement with the help of local communities, the Diaspora and International development partners as well as the local authorities.
