Best Application That Provide Many Inspiring Creative Kids Punch Art

Punch art is a fun technique easy enough for the smallest crafters. If they prefer kids can use the technique to create their own freestyle artwork. Bonus: This inexpensive project recycles plastic grocery bags!

Completion time – 2-4 hours

Materials

STYROFOAM Brand Foam

Board, 18" x 12" x 1"

Other Materials

Black acrylic paint

Plastic bags cut into 2" squares, six each:

blue; white; orange (three squares only)

Ribbon of choice for hanger (optional)

Tools

Serrated knife

Candle stub or paraffin

Fine-line black permanent marker

Ruler

Wooden skewer with one blunt end

Medium flat paintbrush

Disposable palette

Water basin

Paper towels

Scissors

Thick, white craft glue

Instructions

(Note: Adults only should handle the serrated knife.)

1. To cut bag squares faster, smooth and fold each bag into 2" strip before cutting. Avoid printed areas, except cut one or two black squares for bird's eye.

2. If desired, wax serrated knife with candle stub or paraffin and cut foam block to fit pattern or desired design.

3. Paint foam edges black; let dry. Use marker to trace design onto center front of foam.

4. Apply small dots of glue to one area of design. Note:

Designer recommends filling in bird outline first for best results. Using blunt end of skewer, push center of one plastic bag square straight down into foam over each glue dot. Twist skewer slightly and remove. Repeat to cover foam, spacing plastic squares 1/4" to 3/8" apart. Let dry.

5. When dry, stroke hand over top of design to fluff plastic.

Fill in any empty spots. Hold scissors level to trim any uneven spots.

6. Cut 24" length from ribbon; glue ends to top back corners of picture for hanger.
