Blabbit is a mobile instant messaging app that allows you send and receive messages without having to pay for SMS. Blabbit Messenger is only currently available for Android, but we are working to develop this in the near future. This messenger app uses your internet data plan so there is no cost to message and stay in touch with your friends.

In addition to basic SMS type messaging, users can create groups, send each other unlimited images, video and audio media messages with ease and speed.

Blabbit Messenger has been proven to use less data per message than the most popular 3G and WIFI based messaging system, 'WhatsApp Messenger', as our advanced compressing technology allows users to send media across phones without risk or worry of using large chunks of data being used.

We tested this by sending and receiving the same content across the devices using both Blabbit and 'WhatsApp'. We found that after a day of use, 'WhatsApp used 107KB of foreground data and a huge 659KB of background data! We switched over to Blabbit and found that our compressed messages use around 23% less data than 'WhatsApp', weighing in at a tiny 600KB overall.
