Have fun learning assembly language by programming robot fighters.

Have fun while designing the ultimate robot fighter.

Creatures of the Earth! As the Coalition's Ambassador to the Seventh Arm, it is my pleasure to invite you to join the cause against the Guttles that plague all magnanimous beings in our universe.

In an effort to recruit and train agents, the Coalition authorized the construction of a sub-ether relay station in the system you call WOLF 359. This relay station allows Earth (and other nearby systems) the ability to connect into the Universal Sub-Ether Network (USEN). Additionally, the Coalition authorized the development and deployment of specialized software for citizens to access and employ the network.

Specifically, the Coalition is looking for individuals with a talent for analyzing and adapting operating instructions for autonomous mechanisms.

The communication methods of your kind have been forwarded to the Coalition developers. The developers have delivered the USEN access software based on carbon scratches made on woven plant fibers. The access software will allow you to experiment and discover the best tactics and strategies for autonomous, mechanized battle.

It is the hope of the Coalition that many of your kind will excel and, ultimately, join our forces in the fight against the Guttles.

On behalf of the Coalition for Expanded Knowledge, I welcome you to the cause and wish you the best in your development efforts.

The robots running your code physically exist on the natural satellite known as Imp.

With its numerous production and test arenas, This moon is affectionately known as the 'Proving Grounds.'

Each arena has a field and a mainframe computer. An official field is 500 feet wide and 1000 feet tall.

The mainframe controls the game. The mainframe will transmit a view of the action to your access device.

The mainframe can also attach to each robot allowing you to debug and edit your code while the game is playing. Through the mainframe you can play, pause, and code.

The mainframe can step the game. When stepping, the game pauses after each robot has executed one line of code.

In a test arena, the mainframe can also update each robot's code in real-time. This is how you develop your team of robots!

While in a game, touch your access device, to display the mainframe control panel. With the mainframe control panel, you can adjust the game speed, pause or play the game (step or run), select the robot being developed, and bring up a robot's code.

When the CODE button is clicked, the current Debug Bot is opened in the code view window. When in code view, the current line of code is highlighted. Clicking on the STEP button, will cause the robot to run the highlighted code. The mainframe will update the game view.

While viewing code, you can select a line by long-clicking it. Long-clicking a line will open the code options. To edit the line of code, select EDIT from the code options.

Thankfully, when editing code, you do not need to type the commands or registers. The entry screen provides drop-downs for the commands and registers.

If you need to enter literal numbers or a label, use your device's soft or hard keyboard.

I suggest starting with the tuturial, but to start playing quickly, use the "Start a new Match" button in the opening screen. When you first start asmBots, 5 template bots will be loaded. The mainframe always moves the bots to random locations, then the game starts.

When the game starts, the bot's code start running. The template bots are loaded with stub programs for handling collisions and distances to other bots. You can extend the bots from this point. To start, each bot will move to its own area of the field.

No bots will shoot yet! You can add shooting by coding the bots with what you learn from the tutorial.

As you code, make sure to save your changes from the MENU in the coding view.

Current Issue:
If you have both ASMBOTS SOCCER and CQC installed on the same phone, the starting player list is confused. Please ensure to select each bot again when starting a new match, if you have BOTH apps installed.

If you load a soccer bot into a battle, the app may crash and/or the soccer bot will be defeated.

Even though the opening players is mixed up, the bot selector will only allow the proper bot.
