Illustrated, applicazioni di identificazione robuste per il 93% di tutti i fiori selvatici Colorado.
DESCRIPTION FOR OUR WILDFLOWER APPS:
Flora ID is an app for easy, quick identification of wildflowers in your state or larger region. Want to know what that beautiful flower growing beside the hiking trail is? Or quickly find a plant name you've forgotten? Use the app that farmers, conservationists, botanists, students, teachers, gardeners, nursery owners, and those curious about the natural world turn to for identifying wildflowers.
Our wildflower apps include about 90% of the flowering plants that grow in this state or region, so you won't be let down by a field guide or app that doesn't include what you're looking for. With a little practice, finding a wildflower in the app is a breeze. And you'll never get stuck, with 80+ lists of plant characteristics to choose from in any order, and an average of three color photos per plant species. All photos are in the app so there's no need for a data connection.
Flora ID is a nonprofit organization that uses all net proceeds from sales of the apps to support botanical education and research, and development of plant identification tools. It is built on 26 years of experience creating interactive plant identification software. This wildflower app is one of over 55, covering 18 western and central states and 4 SW Canadian provinces.
HOW IT WORKS:
Select plant characteristics, in any order, from over 50 lists of characteristics that match the plant to be identified. Plant characteristics are defined and illustrated.
With each selection the number of possible plants shrinks, often narrowing it down to one species after choosing as few as 3 to 6 characteristics.
At any point in the process, the app can be asked to list the best menus of characteristics to choose from, based on ease of use, effectiveness, and the list of plant species not yet eliminated from consideration.
You can confirm the accuracy of the plant identified by comparing it with photos and/or descriptive information about that plant, or by checking it against references listed in the program.
ADDITIONAL FEATURES:
Menus of characteristics with descriptions and illustrations provide an interactive botanical glossary.
Many book references with page numbers are provided for each species.
All data for each species is available.
The species list is alphabetized by common or scientific names, or you can do a search by entering a common or scientific name, or even part of a name.
In-app help is available by tapping Menu > Help, or by calling it up at http://flora-id.org
Note: If you wish to try out one of our apps, we suggest our free demo app titled “California Lilies.”
Flora ID produces professional apps containing 99+% of all vascular native and naturalized plants known to grow wild, including flowering plants, grass-like plants, conifers, and vascular spore-bearing plants (angiosperms, graminoids, gymnosperms, and pteridophytes) for 18 states and regions.
Our apps are based on our comprehensive interactive keys for PCs, which are subsets of the largest and most extensive database of plant characteristics produced anywhere. We appreciate the individuals, agencies, and institutions that have graciously allowed us to include their copyrighted plant photos in our programs. Even with over 250 sources of photos, not all are of the highest quality. They are the best available and are included here for the help they provide for correct identifications.
