আখেরী যামানায় কিয়ামতের নিকটবর্তী সময়ে মিথ্যুক দাজ্জালের আবির্ভাব ঘটবে। দাজ্জালের আগমণ কিয়ামত নিকটবর্তী হওয়ার সবচেয়ে বড় আলামত। মানব জাতির জন্যে দাজ্জালের চেয়ে অধিক বড় বিপদ আর নেই। বিশেষ করে সে সময় যে সমস্ত মুমিন জীবিত থাকবে তাদের জন্য ঈমান নিয়ে টিকে থাকা অত্যন্ত কঠিন হয়ে পড়বে। সমস্ত নবীই আপন উম্মাতকে দাজ্জালের ভয় দেখিয়েছেন। আমাদের নবী (সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম)ও দাজ্জালের ফিতনা থেকে সতর্ক করেছেন এবং তার অনিষ্ট থেকে বাঁচার উপায়ও বলে দিয়েছেন। ইবনে উমার (রাঃ) নবী (সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম) হতে বর্ণনা করেনঃ “একদা নবী (সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম) দাড়িয়ে আল্লাহর যথাযোগ্য প্রশংসা করলেন। অতঃপর দাজ্জালের আলোচনা করতে গিয়ে বললেনঃ আমি তোমাদেরকে তার ফিতনা থেকে সাবধান করছি। সকল নবীই তাদের উম্মাতকে দাজ্জালের ভয় দেখিয়েছেন। কিন্তু আমি তোমাদের কাছে দাজ্জালের একটি পরিচয়ের কথা বলব যা কোন নবীই তাঁর উম্মাতকে বলেন নাই। তা হলো দাজ্জাল অন্ধ হবে। আর আমাদের মহান আল্লাহ অন্ধ নন।
