Ekushey February Martyr Day and International Mother Language Day. It is a day of tragic and glorious memories of the Bengali people's language movement. On this day of 1952 (8 Falgun, 1359), many people including Salam, Barkat, Jabbar, fell on the ground in the firing of the police on the protesters demanding Bangla to become one of the state's state languages. So this day is marked as Shaheed Day.

Ekushey February is also known as the ‘Amor Ekushey’, the root of the Bengali Nationalism and an independent country, Bangladesh. The International Mother Language Day on 21st February is observed worldwide to promote the awareness of the cultural diversity, linguistic and multilingualism.
