His birth and upbringing

He was born in Mecca in 1372 AH / 1952 AD. He is of Burmese origin, and he grew up there and received his primary education, where he memorized the Holy Qur’an at the hands of Sheikh Khalil bin Abdul Rahman, the reciter, in the Bin Ladin Mosque of the Qur’an Memorization Group in the year 1385 AH, and obtained his primary certificate. From the Qur’an Memorization School affiliated with the Ministry of Education in 1386 AH, then he moved to Medina and studied the middle and high school levels at the Medina Scientific Institute, where he graduated in 1392 AH.

His university and legal studies

He joined the Islamic University and graduated from the College of Sharia in 1396 AH. He then specialized in interpretation and Qur’anic sciences, and obtained a master’s degree from the College of the Qur’an. The subject of the thesis was “Saeed bin Jubair and his narrations in interpretation from the beginning of the Qur’an to the end of Surat Al-Tawbah.” He obtained a doctorate from the same college in 1408 AH, and the subject of the thesis was: “Said bin Jubair’s narratives in interpretation from the beginning of Surah Yunus to the end of the Qur’an.”

In addition to his studies in government schools and the university, he studied with many sheikhs and scholars in the city and studied various types of legal sciences from them, including interpretation and its sciences, jurisprudence according to the four schools of thought, hadith and its sciences and terminology, interpretation and the principles of jurisprudence, and other things. Among his sheikhs were:

Abdul Aziz Muhammad Othman.

Muhammad Sayed Tantawi.

Akram Diaa Al-Omari.

Muhammad Al-Amin Al-Shanqeeti.

Abdul Mohsen Al-Abad.

Abdullah Muhammad Al-Ghunaiman.

Abu Bakr Al-Jazairi.

His working life

After graduating from the first university level, he worked as a teaching assistant at the College of the Qur’an from 1397 - 1398 AH, and was assigned to supervise the college’s examinations for ten years. He became a faculty member in the Department of Interpretation since obtaining his doctorate. In addition to his university work, he is a member of the Scientific Committee at the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Qur’an. The honorable.

Imamate and oratory

He also took over the imamate and preaching in a number of the city’s mosques, including:

A cooperating imam in the Prophet’s Mosque for Tarawih and Qiyam prayers from 1410 AH until 1417 AH, and also in 1436 AH.

The Sheikh and the Qur’an

Sheikh Muhammad Ayoub is considered one of the famous reciters in Saudi Arabia and the Islamic world. He has recordings of the Qur’an on radio and television. The King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Noble Qur’an recorded for him a recording of the entire Qur’an, as it is broadcast on the Holy Qur’an Radio. Muhammad Ayoub memorized the Qur’an when he was 12 years old, and he studied the Qur’an with Sheikh Zaki Daghestani in primary school when he was in Mecca, as well as with Sheikh Khalil, a reciter. Both sheikhs excelled in Hijazi recitation, except that he took the recitations from the latter as a teaching method, so he accompanied the sheikh wherever he went, as Sheikh Khalil went. Rather, what was most important to him was to establish memorization. It is enough for Muhammad Ayoub to be proud that he led the people in prayer in the first mosque founded on piety, and it is enough for him to be proud that he led the worshipers in the Prophet’s Mosque. The ten minarets distributed his beautiful voice throughout Medina and the green dome was filled with embraces as he frequented the outskirts of the Prophet Muhammad’s city. So how could that not be so as he was one of the The first group of people prayed Tarawih prayers alone throughout the month of Ramadan, without anyone participating in it, as that was the shrine of the Prophet Muhammad, which indicates the steadfastness of his memorization and the splendor of his performance. He is still remembered on the nights of the month of Ramadan for their fragrant spirituality, and he was known as the Sheikh of Reciters.

His death

Sheikh Muhammad Ayoub died before the dawn prayer on Saturday, 9 Rajab 1437 AH, corresponding to April 16, 2016 AD, at the age of 64 years. Prayers were offered over him in the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina after the noon prayer, and he was buried in Al-Baqi Cemetery.
