The science of prosody and rhyme is a science by which the true weights of Arabic poetry are known from their corruption and what is in them

The science of prosody and rhyme is the balance of poetry, by means of which its broken form is known from its meter, just as grammar is the criterion of speech by which its syntax is known from its melody.

The science of prosody and rhyme owes credit for its establishment to the scholar Al-Khalil bin Ahmed Al-Farahidi Al-Basri Al-Azdi, who was an imam in Arabic sciences, and that it was he who devised the science of prosody and brought it into existence and limited its sections to five circles from which fifteen seas were extracted.
