Ahmed Al-Trabelsi was born on March 18, 1947 in the city of Beirut in the Lebanese Republic. He immigrated to Kuwait in 1963 and obtained Kuwaiti citizenship in 1974. He joined the Kuwaiti army and reached the rank of colonel.
Aside from sports, Al-Tarabulsi participated in Qur’an reading competitions on several occasions, the most recent of which was the international competition held in Bangladesh in 1995. He is also considered the first Kuwaiti to record the recited Qur’an in his name in 1992, which was broadcast on the radio and Sports Channel 3 in Kuwait.
