Idris Abkar

He is a reciter of the Holy Qur’an. He was born in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in the year 1395 AH, corresponding to 1975 AD. He is the imam of Sheikh Zayed Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the Emirates. He also led many mosques in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He is one of the most famous reciters and has memorized the Holy Qur’an since his childhood.

He studied the Holy Qur’an from a young age, as he began his first stages in the Tawhid Mosque when he was not more than eight years old. He returned and joined the memorization classes when he was thirteen years old at the Al-Fatani Mosque. He memorized the Holy Qur’an within four years of joining this mosque and began leading the worshipers there for nearly three years.
