Find out the best areas and venues to visit in the City of Hot Thess

See where and when’s cool to hang out in the city of Thessaloniki, through the HotThess app. Our information is presented in real time depending on the day and time of day. This way, you can always find out which venue or area is worth visiting. You can choose to see the hot areas of the city also at a specified time (e.g. where’s good to go on Friday 5pm?).

HotThess is a service depending on data that we collect from social network activity in the region of Thessaloniki. We then use this data to show you the most popular venues and areas in the city, depending on the day and time, showing you where local residents like to hang out.

The app offers:

- Real time visualization of socially active areas via heatmap

- Venues (e.g. bars, shops, cafes) that are popular at the current or specified times

- Filtering of venues by category

- Notifications about the best places nearby to visit during the day

HotThess was developed as part of a Ph.D. thesis at the University of Patras, Greece (Computer Engineering & Informatics Department).
