The Office of the High Commissioner for Planning is the Moroccan institution in charge of statistical production, planning, forecasting, analysis and economic forecasting.

The HCP is a ministerial structure established in September 2003 as a mission administration, under the authority of a high commissioner of the plan appointed, with rank of Minister, by His Majesty the King.

Institution enjoying institutional and intellectual independence in the establishment of its programs and the conduct of its investigations and studies.

Principal producer of economic, demographic and social statistical information and responsible for the establishment of the nation's accounts.

Develops studies in the fields of business conditions, macroeconomic framework and foresight.

Has an observatory of the living conditions of households and a center for studies and demographic research.

The HCP complies in its statistics and studies with international standards and has since 2005 been admitted to the IMF's Special Standard for Data Dissemination.

The HCP is appointed to the Steering Committee of the Partnership in Statistics for Development at the dawn of the 21st century (PARIS21).

Morocco is elected, for the second time since 2000, a member of the United Nations Statistical Commission, at the meeting of the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations held on May 18, 2009 in New York.
