Worship

We begin each of our services with a time of worship and prayer. The purpose and focus of our worship is to invite our congregation to the throne through a blended style of singing. Our focus is not on the music, but on interacting with the presence of the Holy Spirit in the church.

Psalm 98:4- Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music;

We also recognize that worship is not simply singing together, but instead we are to worship God in every aspect of our lives.

Romans 12:1- Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God- this is your true and proper worship.

Who We Are

The Church of the Nazarene exists to serve as an instrument for advancing the kingdom of God through the preaching and teaching of the gospel throughout the world. Our objective is a spiritual one, namely, to evangelize as a response to the Great Commission of our Lord to “go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19).

Our Mission

Proclaiming Christ and becoming disciples through worship, Bible study, fellowship and missions.

Our History

The congregation, which was to become the Greenbrier Church of the Nazarene, first met in the spring of 1904. There were approximately twenty (20) charter members. In 1908, the Church of the Nazarene as a national organization was formed at Pilot Point, Texas. The objective of the denomination was the preaching and promotion of Christian holiness among believers, and a vigorous evangelistic enterprise in America and around the world. There were approximately sixty (60) congregations in Arkansas that joined the newly formed denomination including Greenbrier.

The Church has gone through several building programs over these past 100 years. In 2003 we moved into the beautiful sanctuary where we currently hold our worship services that seats approximately 450. It was dedicated September 21, 2003. At the present time, our average morning worship attendance is over 350. We are excited to announce that in the summer of 2017, we will be adding a state of the art children's facility on the the east side of our Family Life Center!

As you can see, God has so richly blessed us over the span of a hundred years. He has been so faithful to provide for our every need. If He tarries, we will continue to do His will and follow the path laid before us. If He chooses to return tomorrow, we will have a great homecoming in Glory with all those who left us this rich legacy. To God be the glory—Great things He has done!
