Club León is a professional soccer club in Mexico from the city of León, located in the Mexican Bajío region, specifically in the state of Guanajuato. It plays in the First Division of Mexico, in which it occupies the sixth position in its historical Classification. It was founded on August 31, 1943, after the merger of the Guanajuato National Team and the Unión de Curtidores, under the name of Unión-León7 and initially played at home in the now-defunct Patria Stadium. Later, it would move its headquarters to the old Enrique Fernández Martínez Stadium (not to be confused with the current Enrique Fernández Martínez Sports Unit) and later, in 1950, to the La Martinica Stadium.
