Augmented reality application to navigate the Globe Tecnodidattica

GlobeARound to Constellation is an augmented reality application to navigate the Globe Tecnodidattica with the help of your Smartphone and discover numerous interactive and multimedia contents related to the Starry Sky, Constellations and many astronomical objects such as double stars, star clusters, nebulae and galaxies.

By framing the sphere of the globe with the camera of your device, it is possible to display, in augmented reality and therefore superimposed on the globe, the characters of the most important Constellations, with the 3D location of the most important astronomical objects. more interesting that characterize each constellation.

With a simple touch of the finger, the individual elements can be selected and viewed interactively, images and information sheets can be displayed.

The application contains

- 20 characters corresponding to as many astronomical constellations, floating in 3D and viewable in AR, superimposed on the star map of the globe in “night” mode.

- 20 descriptive sheets which contain general information on the constellation, the history and mythology of the character represented, the main stars and celestial objects present in the constellation, as well as indications on how to identify them in the sky.

- more than 40 3D objects, positioned in AR on the stellar globe, representing astronomical objects such as star clusters, nebulae and galaxies; each accompanied by explanatory visuals photographed using the most powerful telescopes.

- 4 detailed 3D films on astronomical geography: the rotation and revolution movements of the Earth, the astronomical seasons, the movement of the Moon around the Earth and the phases of the Moon, time zones and time differences on the world.

In addition to the augmented reality navigation mode, interactive content is also accessible via a simple 3D interactive interface, with the touch of a finger.

How does it work?

- Download the GlobeAR application via QR code or link to the online store;

In AR mode:

- Use the app in a dark room and turn on the globe.

- Choose a constellation

- Frame the constellation of your choice on the globe;

- Tap the magnifying glass icon near each constellation to get more details.

In 3D mode:

- Using the 3D interface, choose the constellation to observe;

- Proceed as for the AR version.
