Personal portfolio of Giampiero Marchiò

Giampiero Marchio' was born in 1969 in Sarzana (SP). Since he was a child he has dedicated himself to water sports such as freediving, underwater fishing and windsurfing.

Soon he begins to travel with his parents during their holidays and, having reached the age of majority, after the scientific diploma, he makes his first long journey alone: ​​Kenya. Remains fascinated by this African land that offers crystal clear waters in which to dive, waves and constant wind for Kitesurfing. But what strikes him most are the charm and vastness of the unspoiled nature of the savannah; the animals, then, until then seen only in documentaries, were really just a few meters away…

The first safari was truly magical and very difficult to describe in words so, back in Italy, he bought his first photographic equipment and began, in his little free time, to study photography. During his university studies he extended his stay in Kenya where he prepared the exams and returned to Italy to take them. After graduating in Pharmacy and becoming owner, the time in Kenya is drastically reduced to the classic month of vacation but, despite this, he could not give up two safaris a year. Having sold the business after 25 years, he moved to live in the "magical land of Africa" ​​where he still spends most of the year alternating deep-sea fishing, kitesurfing and, above all, photographic safaris.
