State contracts for the construction of all stadiums of the 2018 World Cup in Russia were signed on December 26, 2014 . After that, 12 stadiums were constructed and reconstructed in 11 cities of Russia.

In Yekaterinburg: "Yekaterinburg Arena" (capacity for the time of the championship is 35,000 spectators). The Central Stadium of Yekaterinburg was reconstructed for the World Championship. The arena's stands will accommodate 35,000 spectators. The reconstruction was completed in December 2017. Initially, the stadium was reconstructed from 2006 to 2011. This reconstruction was in no way connected with the application of Russia for the World Cup, therefore, to bring the stadium to the requirements of community was carried out another reconstruction worth 7 billion rubles.

In Volgograd: "Volgograd Arena" (capacity for the time of the championship - 45000 spectators). The main arena of Volgograd is built on the site of the old stadium "Central": the new stadium is located near the Mamayev Kurgan. The commissioning took place on April 3, 2018.

In Samara: "Samara Arena" (capacity for the time of the championship - 45000 spectators). Officially the construction started on July 21, 2014. Completed on April 21, 2018.

In Nizhny Novgorod: "Stadium Nizhny Novgorod" (capacity for the time of the championship - 45000 spectators). Works on the construction of the stadium "Nizhny Novgorod" began in 2015. The work was completed in December 2017.

In Saransk: "Mordovia Arena" (capacity for the time of the championship - 44,000 spectators). The stadium in Saransk was to be put into operation in 2012 for the opening of the All-Russian Olympics, but the plans were adjusted. Subsequently, the opening of the stadium was postponed for 2017. In Sochi: Stadium "Fisht" (capacity for the time of the championship - 45000 spectators). After the Sochi 2014 arena was reconstructed for the Confederations Cup FIFA 2017 and the 2018 World Cup.

In St. Petersburg: "Stadium St. Petersburg" (capacity for the time of the championship - 67000 spectators). Construction of the stadium began in 2007. The official end is December 29, 2016 [40]. The stadium hosted matches of the FIFA Confederations Cup 2017, matches of the 2018 World Cup and the European Football Championship.

In Moscow: "The opening of the Arena" ("Spartacus") (capacity for the time of the championship - 45,000 spectators). It is the home arena of the Spartak club. In connection with the requirements of community for the time of the 2018 World Cup, instead of "Opening the Arena" the stadium will be called "Spartak". The opening match took place on September 5, 2014. Stadium "Luzhniki" (capacity for the time of the championship - 80,000 spectators). The biggest stadium of the country; its reconstruction began in 2013. It was commissioned in November 2017.
