1) Ability cultivation: Learning to observe and look for specific details is a key skill to success, both in the humanities and in academics.

2) Theoretical basis: When 4 to 5 year olds observe complex things or scenes, they often lack order and any sort of systematic approach. After, move on to more complex descriptions, such as shape, distance, and perceived qualities such as weight and material.
