Renewable Energy Jurisprudence Islamic Views and Responses to PLTS By Abd. Moqsith
This Android application is an explanation of Renewable Energy Jurisprudence, Islamic Views and Responses to Solar Power Plants (PLTS) by Abd. Moqsith Ghazali, et al. In Pdf format.
ISLAM encourages its followers to make changes towards a better and more prospective life, both in terms of the external-dunyawiyah and spiritual-ukhrawiyah. Islamic Sharia (read; fiqh) is required to be able to answer problems that arise and develop in society, especially world problems related to human life.
Therefore, Islamic teachings through the creative ijtihad of its mujtahids try to create a dialogue between the sources of Islamic law and the continually developing reality. One thing that Muslims need to respond quickly to is the issue of non-renewable and limited fossil energy and renewable energy solutions.
In the past year and a half, the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Executive Board through the Human Resources Study and Development Institute (LAKPESDAM) has collaborated with the UGM Center for Energy Studies (PSE), the UGM Center for Community Economic Studies (PUSTEK) and the Center for Civic Engagement Studies (CCES). ) in realizing the fulfillment of electricity sourced from renewable energy (PLTS) while simultaneously working to improve the standard of living of the poor through micro, small and medium enterprises through renewable energy in East Tanjung Jabung Regency, Jambi Province and South Solok Regency, West Sumatra Province. This collaboration is called the KEMALA Consortium.
As a country known as the emerald equator, Indonesia is blessed with natural resources that have the potential to be developed into renewable energy. Especially renewable energy which comes from sunlight, water, wind, biomass, ocean waves and geothermal heat.
To maintain the existence and sustainability of renewable energy sources, we are obliged to protect the environment - the universe - so that the potential of these energy sources remains sustainable. Therefore, NU in the decision of the Cipasung Congress in 1994 decided that environmental pollution of air, water or land which causes dlarar (damage) is haram and constitutes a criminal act (jinayat).
As time went by, NU's recommendations were not followed up seriously by the Indonesian Government. For almost 13 years, NU has seen the increasing destruction of natural resources in Indonesia caused by exploitation, environmental pollution, land clearing and others.
In response to this, in 2007 PBNU held a meeting of the National Movement for Forestry and the Environment of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (GNKL PBNU) with mandatory recommendations to the Government of the Republic of Indonesia, NU citizens and all elements of society to fight for environmental sustainability (jihad bi'iyah).
