FCC Element 7 is a written exam that tests the knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices of radio communication specifically for the use of the General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL).

The General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL) is required for certain types of jobs in the field of radio communications, such as in aviation, maritime, and other industries where radios are used for communication. The license certifies that the holder has the knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices of radio communication to operate, maintain, and repair radio equipment within the authorized frequency range.
