It is known that citizens carry out different actions on a daily basis that help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, such as transporting themselves by bicycle or walking to work, school or university, using public transport instead of private transport, using their houses more efficient equipment or appliances or actively participate in days of planting trees, etc. Since these actions are not easily visible, the eCO2 platform offers you a space to gather information about the efforts you make every day to combat climate change.

It is directed tato to the particular citizenship as to companies, schools, governmental entities, among others.

The reductions of emissions or removals of greenhouse gases (GHG) calculated in this application are of an educational nature, so that citizens estimate in an indicative way their contribution to the mitigation of GHG causing global warming. Due to this, said reductions of GHG emissions or removals will not be taken into account in the national accounting of GHG emissions reductions or removals, and therefore, will not be eligible or valid in any GHG certification program, which implies that they can not be offered within the framework of any carbon pricing instrument, nor in any carbon market mechanism at the national or international level or any other similar instrument.
