An inverter is a power electronic circuit used to convert direct voltage "DC" to alternating voltage "AC". The inverter is the opposite of the "adapter" converter which has the function of converting an alternating voltage "AC" to a direct voltage "DC".

This inverter only uses the DC current voltage from the battery or the car battery can turn on electronic equipment (AC Voltage 220V)

There are 3 types of inverters according to the output waveform:

1. Square Wave Inverter: This inverter is the simplest. Even though this type of inverter can produce a voltage of 220 VAC, 50 Hz, this inverter is suitable for use only to turn on lights.

2. Modified Sine Wave Inverter: This inverter can be used for several electrical devices such as computers, TV and lamps but cannot be used for more sensitive loads.

3. Pure Sine Wave Inverter: This inverter is the most perfect because its output wave is almost the same as the electric wave we use everyday. So this inverter can use all electronic devices.
