Everyone knows that Duck Tape® is extremely popular. The first duct tape project we posted was this duct tape wallet. It’s easy to work with and a great mess-free way for kids to decorate just about anything. we had this idea to cover a foam sheet in Duck Tape and use it as a corkboard. However, we didn’t have any sheets, but we did have a couple of Styrofoam wreaths lying around!
Supplies
•Styrofoam wreath
•Purple Duck Tape
•White Duck Tape
•Black Duck Tape
•Glue stick
•Scissors
Directions
1.Start by cutting off a piece of Duck Tape® long enough to wrap around the wreath once, keeping the seams either in the back or the center. It’s easier to cut the tape into sections, don’t try holding the roll and wrapping around. It’s too difficult and you’ll end up with creases and bumps.
2.To make the teeth, cut a piece of white Duck Tape and fold it onto itself, sticky side to sticky side. Now use the scissors to cut out a tooth. Repeat this step until you have enough teeth. we cut out ten, six for the bottom and four for the top. You’re going to use a glue stick, but only for tacking purposes. It’s to hold your teeth in place for the next step.
3.Using the glue stick, tack the teeth in place at the bottom section of the wreath. Next, cut sections of purple Duck Tape over the bottom of the teeth to hold them in place and make them look like they are coming out of the wreath. You may need to trim some of the edges of the tape into a curved shape to look natural. Repeat this process for the top teeth as well.
4.Cut four pieces of white Duck Tape, about 4-inches long each. Stick two of the pieces together, stick sides touching. Take a third piece and stick the long edge to the long edge of the two joined pieces. Now stick the fourth piece to the sticky side of the third piece. This will join all four pieces together, making a wider piece. Repeat this entire process one more time so that you have two white tape squares.
5.Use a jar lid (in my case, a lid from a decoupage container) or some other round object to trace a circle onto the white square. Repeat for a second one. Cut out the circles, leaving a tab at the bottom (see photo). Stick two black pieces of tape together and cut out two small circles for the pupils. Glue the black circles to the white circles. Create eyelids using purple Duck Tape.
6.Use glue stick to tack the eye tabs to the top of the monster. Cover the tabs with purple Duck Tape. Attach wall hanging strips to the back of the wreath to hang on the wheel.
