Counsel helps you make better decisions in life using the wisdom of people.

Counsel is a social app that lets you post questions to seek unbiased advice and opinions. Have any problem in life? Ask helpful people and answers in real time. Also, you can privately chat with them to seek deeper responses.

A single human being may not have enough wisdom and experience to make the best decisions but if you combine the wealth of knowledge that mankind has gained as a species, we can make better decisions which will lead to a better life. Counsel is an attempt to bring back that human touch that is slowly disappearing with the integration of more and more technology in our lives. We urge you to not just seek help but also to share your experiences with others and help them.

We aim to be the global platform for emotional wellness.

We reward you for helping other people. You can either chat with them or leave a comment.

Feeling low or depressed? Talking to supportive people can help. Sometimes, all we need is an assurance from someone but we may not always have someone around us to give us that support. Counsel is a community where you can seek advice and answers from people and also help others with your own wisdom and experience.

You can think of it like a new age and personal Yahoo answers or Quora. Some of the community members have pursued masters education in psychology, psychotherapy and counselling. What's more? You can post as well as chat anonymously so that you can discuss your problems and life issues without having to reveal your identity.

Permissions explained

Device and App History : To log crashes and figure out the reason behind them.

Identity & Contacts : Chat needs this permission. But we can assure you that we don't store or use this data since we don't need it.

Phone permissions : Our first version actually allowed people to talk via VoIP calls. We have removed this feature and we will soon deprecate this permission too.

Photos/Media : To allow the user to select a profile picture.

Camera : To allow users to upload a profile picture by taking a photo from the camera.

Microphone : Users can post voice comments in addition to text comments.

Device ID : To send push notifications (we are working on matching questions to the most appropriate users who might be able to answer the question)
