Storage Bin Booking with Android – Software solution for professional users

This demo application provides a field-proven storage bin booking process for your Android device and is designed for professional use in business.

For a simple illustration of the processes and functions just download the app to your smartphone. You have the option to create your own article master to check against during the process by BARCODE SCAN (mobile devices in batch mode). The captured data can then be exported in XML or CSV file format for post-processing and later imported into your ERP system. For the delivery of mobile captured data to the ERP Cosys offers a special middleware and standard interfaces for popular ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Dynamics AX and SAP and a variety of business systems on the market.

Naturally you can exploit the maximum potential of our software solutions only with a professional Android mobile device, which comprises a permanently installed barcode laser scanner or imager. Using this APP during productive operations you are capable of transporting goods, materials and any other objects from one storage location to another one and, at the same time, of capturing this process mobile and in real time for entering it into your Warehouse Management System. The capturing of articles and storage bin bookings as well as the entry into the ERP system are carried out by a strictly predefined barcode scanning except for the manual entering of the quantity. You scan the article or capture it via the input mask of the article search function. Following this you SCAN the storage location from where you take the item, enter the quantity and SCAN the storage location to where you want to transport the article. The entry in your ERP-/LVS system will be made automatically after this SCANNING process. Furthermore you keep track of when and “by whom” an article has been transported due to the fact that every member of staff has to identify themselves with their user name and password and a time stamp is stored for every entry.

If you do not have an Android device available which has a permanently installed barcode scanner, you can test our Android software solutions on your Android smartphone or tablet by connecting a barcode handset scanner. As things presently stand, for scan-intensive use, current smartphone cameras (including auto focus) developed for the consumer market are not capable of capturing 1D/2D in warehouse and logistics in an acceptable speed.
