• Ratification and Proclamation: The Constitution was ratified in a popular referendum on February 24, 2019 and proclaimed in the Second Extraordinary Session of the IX Legislature of the National Assembly of People's Power on April 10, 2019.

• Replacement of the 1976 Constitution: This new version replaces the Constitution that governed Cuba for 43 years, introducing new laws and reforms for the nation.
