Configurazione elettronica

Arrangement of electrons in the orbitals of a chemical element.

With the term electronic configuration of a chemical element, we mean the description of the arrangement of electrons in its orbitals. Each orbital is associated with an abbreviation consisting of a number and a letter. The number indicates the principal quantum number, that is, the energy level to which the orbital belongs and can assume any integer value between 1 and 7; the letter (s, p, d, f) instead indicates the secondary quantum number and therefore the type of orbital. This application reports the electronic configuration of the chemical elements, sorted by period, by symbol and by name.
