About Confesiones de San Agustín (Ve

Confessions of Saint Augustine with audio (Trial version)

Confessions is a book in which Saint Augustine wrote about his sinful youth and how he converted to Christianity. It is widely accepted as the first Western autobiography ever written, and it became a model for other Christian authors of the following centuries. It is not a complete autobiography because it was written after his first 40 years of life and lived until 76, time during which he produced other important works, including The City of God. The book is a finished work of philosophy and also an important contribution to theology.

The work is divided into 13 books. They narrate the childhood of Augustine, his adolescence and youth, his academic career, his stay in Manichaeism, his personal process of approaching Christianity, his conversion, and his first experiences as a Catholic.

Saint Augustine of Hippo (354 - 430) is a saint, father and doctor of the Catholic Church.

The "Doctor of Grace" was the greatest thinker of Christianity of the first millennium and according to Antonio Livi one of the greatest geniuses of humanity. Prolific author, he devoted much of his life to writing about philosophy and theology, with Confessions and The City of God his most outstanding works.
