Application aimed at detecting lesions in the cervix

Colposcopy was first introduced in the USA. with the publication of an article by Emmert in the Journal of the American Medical Association in 1931. However, only after the sixties did he achieve some recognition in that country, while its dissemination was much earlier in Europe.

Improved equipment, with more advanced optics and lighting, and the emergence of colophotography led to more accurate descriptions of the capillary vascular bed of the normal and neoplastic cervical epithelia. The COLPOSCOPIO is an optical device, which is connected to a computer, which allows to capture amplified images of the cervix.

The captured images are INTERPRETED BY THE OPERATOR (gynecologist, surgeon oncologist, family doctor, health professionals) who, based on their experience and taking ESTABLISHED CRITERIA, establishes the findings on a scale, which gives a SCORE that defines the DIAGNOSIS PRESUMPTIVE
