CIAP-2

Catalog of CIAP - International Classification of Primary Care - 2nd Edition

CIAP-2 is an APP designed to primary care teams (Ex .: physicians, psychologists, nurses, social workers, among others ...) aiming to facilitate the search procedures and codes related to symptoms, complaints and procedures in attention primary health.

The CIAP (International Classification of Primary Care), was prepared by the International Associations of the World National Organization Classification Committee, Academies and Academic Associations of General Practitioners / Family Physicians (Wonca).

This project was born in 2006 when Brazil started to have a representative on the International Committee of WONCA Classification (WICC). The Ministry of Health signed an agreement with the SBMFC, which allowed the payment of royalties to Wonca and free use of CIAP in Brazil.

CIAP is based on the prevalence of health problems, and the main criterion for inclusion is to be more prevalent than 1: 1,000. The Family Health Strategy (FHS) has been responsible for restructuring of primary care in Brazil, and the use of CIAP will better meet the demands of patients and the work done. In this way, it will help in the planning of actions in health facilities and also the activities for continuing professional development.

When used correctly, a powerful tool it is, it allows you to sort the problems diagnosed by professionals, the reasons for the consultations and also the social condition of the patient. Thus allowing a good stratification and codification of primary health care.
