Mines stats about the phonetic ambiguity of Chinese words in CEDICT.
Downloads and unzips the free Chinese CEDICT dictionary, then analyzes it to find out how many of the Chinese words are phonetically ambiguous or otherwise.
You may be surprised by the results! For example: several well known single character words are phonetically unique. And excluding duplicate loan words, and trivial duplicates with variant characters, all but one pair of four character words and chengyu are phonetically unique.
