Stability updates covering:
- screen layout improvements, message transfer (device id passed back to server to improve logging),
- fix for transactions that immediately exit (menu wasn't redrawing properly),
- date picker fixes where it would always pick todays date or not allow any date to be picked,
- reworked communications between the app and the server to alleviate wifi issues,
- fixed an issue connecting to our realtime server component (for communicating with weighing scales)
