Candan Erçetin (b. 10 February 1963), Turkish singer-songwriter and teacher. Throughout his career of singing for more than twenty years, he was known for preparing and performing songs about human life. Although he released his albums without much publicity, he was nevertheless admired many times for his work being adopted by the audience, selling very well. He was praised for not having a private life in the press, keeping his music at the forefront. Sometimes it attracted attention with the different video clips. As a result of his family's Balkan origin, he frequently included Balkan music instruments in his songs, and sang French and Greek songs as well as Turkish.

Candan Erçetin, who was born in Kırklareli as the daughter of an Albanian and Macedonian family, settled in Istanbul by winning Galatasaray High School when she was young. He received voice training in the following years. He graduated from Classical Archeology at Istanbul University. He worked as a music teacher at Galatasaray High School for a while, and started teaching diction classes at Galatasaray University in 2009. Erçetin was awarded the Art and Literature Order by the French President François Hollande in 2014 for his contributions to the French-Turkish relations, besides, he has won numerous awards for his work so far.
