Get Calculate Fast-acting Insulin old version APK for Android
Used for quickly calculate units needs of fast-acting insulin
Principally oriented for diabetics who use Fast-action insulin
It helps to quickly calculate the number of units of Fast-acting insulin based on the variables introduced without many complications
Variables used for calculation are:
- Current Blood Glucose (mg / dL): Value indicating the amount of glucose in the blood at the time of the calculation.
- Grams of carbohydrates you will eat: Value that indicates how much in grams of carbohydrates you will eat in the meal and that will be taken into consideration for calculation.
- Blood glucose target (mg / dL): What is the blood glucose goal you want to achieve with your insulin dosage for the blood glucose reading you are currently taking, and the grams of carbohydrate you are going to eat at the meal. This value should be defined by your doctor and the normal value will be 100.
- Insulin Sensitivity Factor (ISF): Insulin sensitivity factor is defined as the reduction of blood glucose (in mg / dL) achieved by each unit of fast or short acting insulin. For its calculation the ratio between 1800 (for fast acting insulin) or 1500 (for short acting insulin) and the total daily dose of insulin is made. The sensitivity factor value obtained should be understood as a starting point, which should be adjusted according to frequent blood glucose measurements. This value should be provided by your doctor.
- Insulin / Carbohydrate Ratio: The calculation of the insulin / HC ratio can be done by the ratio of the value 500 to the total daily dose of insulin. The result thus corresponds to the amount of HC (expressed in grams) that is metabolized by one unit of insulin. This value should be provided by your doctor.
