IBU - International Bitterness Units scale - is a standard used as a reference in the manufacture and classification of various types of beverage.
An IBU is defined as 1 mg of iso-alpha-acid per liter of solution.
There are three popular formulas for calculating IBU bitterness in beer: Rager, Tinseth and Garetz. The biggest problem with these formulas is that they use units like gallons and liquid ounce that we do not use here.
From there came the idea of this application, based on the Equation of Jackie Rager and adapted with units used in Brazil.
