In 2015, Comilla Victorians won the title by participating for the first time as a new team in the third season. In the next 2016 season, the new team Dhaka Dynamites regained the Dhaka title.

The 5th season of BPL starts from 2nd November 2017. Sylhet Sixers is added as a new franchise. Rangpur Riders became the champion in this event. Comilla Victorians won the 6th season of BPL on February 8, 2019 after defeating Dhaka Dynamites for the second time. Last on February 18, 2022, Comilla Victorians became champions for the 3rd time after defeating the new team Fortune Barisal by 1 run.
