About Blurless Imaging

You can finally kiss goodbye to blurry pictures!

Tired of taking bad quality pictures when it is dark? You can't help but take blurry pictures? Then this app is for you!

Blurless Imaging improves mobile photography in low light environments. It smartly blends several noisy images into a single one of high visual quality.

It's very simple, here are the steps:

1) Instead of taking a single picture, take as many as you can (we recommend between 5 and 20 images). It's okay if the images are very noisy, we'll take care of that, but we require that every image should be sharp (more information below).

2) Put all the images that you have just taken into an empty folder. You can do that by creating an album in your gallery or by using a file manager app.

3) Start our app, select the folder containing your images as the input directory. Press the 'Apply' button.

4) You can customize the many application settings, but it is recommended that you just scroll down and press the 'Reset' button which will load the default values. You might want to change the output folder as it is also reset.

5) Press the 'Start' button and let the magic happen!

## Warnings ##

This app is still in Beta and therefore it can still suffer from instability. Please be nice and drop us an email or send us the crash report instead of giving a bad review :) . A lot of user-friendly improvements are on their way!

Depending on your phone's speed, the number of images to process and their size, it can take some time (from a few seconds to several minutes). Relax, a message will be shown when the processing is done and the progress wheel at the bottom of our application will disappear. You can lock your screen or press the home button (not the back button!) of your phone and do something else, but it is not recommended as the Android system is likely to decide that our app should be killed when it works in the background.

This application often requires a lot of "RAM memory" (not the disk memory). If you get an error message saying that you don't have enough RAM, please try either to close other apps manually (rebooting the smartphone helps),or to downscale or crop your images. For now, all images must have the same size, so don't do it by hand and the simplest way is to set your camera app to take lower resolution images if you need to.

## How to take sharp images? ##

It is very simple to do with a Nexus 5 or 6 with the help of advanced camera apps, but you can try with any smartphone. The idea is to lower the exposition time as much as possible by setting the highest ISO setting available. Most camera apps have a "night mode" which should do that. The images should be as similar as possible, so take them quickly. If available, the burst mode of your camera will help. If some of your images are still blurry, it is probably best to remove them by hand before using this app.

## Credits ##

This app is based on the OpenCV library.

The directory chooser we use is from aFileChooser.
