First came the Moses and his followers kept themselves attached to his name. They didn't convert into Christianity when Prophet Jesus came with the message of God. So the people who became followers of Prophet Jesus didn't accept the message Prophet Muhammad. They all preached same message of God but as people kept themselves apart from other prophet's followers hence we have so many religions today. It is said that God sent almost 1 24 000 prophets for the guidance of humankind.

On general note all the faiths are for telling humankind who they are from where they came and what's the purpose of their lives? There are many elements of faith. Each element of faith invites us to figure out the answers of questions mentioned above. When a person starts to act upon the guiding principles of living a life which are prescribed by a certain religion - he starts to weigh everything in the light of his faith.
