The BIONIC Gamification App is meant to motivate users to move more in the day.

The BIONIC Gamification App is one of the components of the BIONIC system, a technology created to help people in preventing and monitoring Musculoskeletal diseases as well as related disorders. Musculoskeletal problems are caused, for example, by fixed or constrained body positions, continual repetition of movements, forceful exertions, and a pace of work that does not allow sufficient recovery between movements. Accordingly, the BIONIC system aims to monitor the movements of users in order to understand how they can decrease their chances to have Musculoskeletal problems in the future. Depending on the results of this monitoring, the goal of the BIONIC Gamification App is to motivate users to move more during the day by means of adjustable exercises and a game, and by giving insights on their physical activity. Within the Gamification App, users will be guided by a virtual coach, called Bill. He will try to support users in increasing their well-being. To work at its full capacity, this app needs to be connected to a Suunto watch. In this way, data on the physical activity of the user can be retrieved. Finally, the BIONIC Gamification App can also be used without the BIONIC system.
