The book of Maulid Al Barzanji is contained in the book of Majmu'atu Mawalid wa-Ad'iyyah which is a collection of several writings such as: Qoshidah Burdah, Maulid Syarafil Anam, Maulid Barzanji, Aqidatul Awwam, Rotib al-Haddad , Maulid Diba'i, and others. Named Al-Barjanzy because it is ascribed to the name of the author's village which is located in Barjanziyah, Akrad (Kurdistan) area.

The book's original name is 'Iqd al-Jawahir (Arabic, meaning a necklace of gems) some scholars state that the name of the essay is "I'qdul Jawhar fi mawlid an Nabiyyil Azhar." compiled to increase love for the Prophet Muhammad, although later it is better known by the name of the author. There are two kinds of Mawlid Al Barzanji book, one in prose and the other in poetry.

The contents also tell about the life history of the prophet Muhammad SAW, especially the events of his birth.
