The At-Tauhid Aqidah Book is a book about the study of the basics of Tauhid Science in the form of mandzumah (kalam nadzam). This book explains the obligatory, impossible and jaiz characteristics of Allah SWT and the Messengers (alaihumus sholatu wassalam), totaling 50 characteristics.

Namely 20 obligatory traits, 20 impossible traits and one jaiz trait for Allah plus four obligatory traits, four impossible traits and one jaiz trait for the Messengers (alaihumus sholatu wassalam) which are contained in the two sentences of the shahada (Asyhadu an laa ilaaha illallaahu, wa asyhadu Anna Muhammadar Rasulullah), as contained in the 42nd verse of Nadzam, namely:

Meaning: "A total of fifty aqidahs, contained in two shahadah sentences".

The Book of Aqidah At-Tauhid was compiled by Hadratussyaikh al-Arif Billah KH. Muhammad Hasan bin Syamsuddin bin Qoyiduddin Al Qodiri Al Hasani (qaddasallahu sirrahu) who is better known as Kiai Hasan Genggong. He was the second caliph of the Zainul Hasan Genggong Islamic Boarding School, Probolinggo, East Java.

The Book of Aqidah at Tauhid as a whole contains 75 nadzam verses using bahar rojaz. Bahar Rajaz is a form of poetry whose poetry construction follows a pattern.

What is special about the book Aqidah at Tauhid is that the editor uses kalam nadzam. This will make it easier for anyone who studies it to memorize all the contents of the book. Why? Kalam Nadzam is easier to memorize compared to book editors that use Kalam Natsar.

For this reason, it is not strange that many scholars compile books in the form of mandzumah, such as the books Al Imrithy (Science of Nahwu), Alfiyyah ibn Malik (Science of Nahwu), Al Maqshud (Science of Shorof), Zubad (Science of Fiqh), Aqidatul Awwam (Science Tauhid), Tashil at Turuqot (Ushul Fiqh Science) and many more.

Kiai Hasan Genggong begins this book (nadzam verses 1 to 6) by reciting basmalah, hamdalah and blessings on the Messenger of Allah, his family and friends (radiaallahu 'anhum).

Furthermore, in the 7th verse of Nadzam, he named this book Aqidah at-Tauhid.

Meaning: "This book is in the form of mandzumah bahar Rajaz, aqidah at Tauhid is its name."

In the 8th to 10th nadzam verses, Kiai Hasan Genggong explains that the first obligation for amukallaf (mature and intelligent) person is to know Allah SWT. and His Messenger.

What is meant by knowing Allah and His Messenger is knowing, recognizing and believing in the truth about the nature of the obligatory, impossible and jaiz for Allah and His Messenger.
