AMOLED means stands for Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode.

Amoled screen type can emit light. It is realized by applying an electric current on a thin fluorescent or phosphorescent organic film layer by using the TFT components it contains and allowing the holes and electrons on this organic layer to emit light.

The color of the emitted light in Amoled screen technology depends on the organic matter in the light-emitting layer on the screen.

There are two types of OLED: AM (Active Matrix) OLED and PM (Passive Matrix) OLED.

AMOLED is a unique method in which each component emits light separately, while PM OLED is a line-based method in which one line on the screen emits light simultaneously.

The video response speed of AMOLED is about 1 microsecond (㎛). This is 1,000 times faster than a TFT LCD, with a video response speed of about one millisecond (ms).

The higher speed of AMOLED solves the motion blur problem experienced with TFT LCD. AMOLED displays also emit their light, eliminating the need for a backlight. This way, an OLED screen's weight and thickness are 1/3 less than a TFT LCD screen.

Amoled screens do not present authentic images, and LCD screens offer colors and images closer to real life and eye view. The contrast is dimmer on AMOLED screens than on LCD screens. LCD can be used if a more realistic view of images is desired.

LCD screens appear bluer, while AMOLED screens appear more yellow. This is another reason why AMOLED looks better to your eyes. Low light, on the other hand, tires people's eyes at night. LCD screens often have color temperature settings to filter out blue, but you'll never get pure blacks.
