Al-Lubab Fil Fiqhi Asy-Syafi'i is one of the books that became the main reference for previous scholars in fiqh al-Shafi'i. The contents of this book have been mentioned by several later scholars in several of their works when describing fiqh issues.

The most recent scholars in the al-Shafi'i sect are so concerned about the book al-Lubab. al-Imam Waliyuddin Abu Zur'ah Ahmad bin al-Hafizh Abdul Rahim al-'Iraqi (762-826H) was the first scholar who summarized the book of al-Lubab with his work entitled "Tanqih al-Lubab".

This book of Tanqih al-Lubab, has subsequently been deciphered (disyarah) by several scholars, among others;

1. Burhanuddin Ibrahim bin Musa al-Karki al-Shafi'i (853 H)

2. Jalaluddin Muhammad bin Abdul Rahman al-Shiddiqi al-Shafi'i (891H)

Shaykh al-Islam, al-Qadhi Zaynuddin Abu Yahya Zakariya bin Muhammad bin Ahmad al-Anshari al-Sunaiki al-Mishri (823-926H) has summarized the book Tanqih al-Lubab through his work "Tahrir Tanqih al-Lubab". He then elaborated on his book with another work, namely the Book of Syarh al-Tahrir or the actual title "Tuhfah al-Thullab bi Syarh Tahrir Tanqih al-Lubab".

Besides him, the book Tahrir Tanqih al-Lubab has also been recommended by several scholars, including;

1. al-Imam Shamsuddin, Muhammad bin Abu al-'Abbas Ahmad bin Hamza bin Ahmad Syihabuddin al-Ramli al-Munufi, who is known as al-Shafi'i al-Shaghir (919-1004 H).

2. al-Imam Zaynuddin 'Abdul Rauf bin 'Ali al-Munawi al-Syafi'i (1031H) with his work entitled "Ihsan al-Taqrir bi Syarh al-Tahrir"

Whereas the Book of Tuhfah al-Thullab bi Syarh Tahrir Tanqih al-Lubab, the work of Shaykh al-Islam Zakariyya al-Anshari above, has been given comments (hasyiah) by several scholars, including:

1. Shihabuddin bin Ahmad bin Ahmad bin Salamah al-Qalyubi (1069H).

2. Shamsuddin Muhammad bin Ahmad al-Syawbari al-Syafi'i (1069 H).

3. 'Abdul Bar bin Abdullah al-Ajhuri (1072H), with his work "Manhah al-Ahbab bi Syarh Tuhfah al-Thullab"

4. Shamsuddin Muhammad bin Dawud bin Sulaiman al-'Inani (1098H), with his work "Fath al-Karim al-Wahhab 'ala Syarh Tanqih al-Lubab"

5. Hasan bin 'Ali bin Ahmad al-Manthawi al-Mudabighi al-Shafi'i (1170H).

6. 'Abdullah bin Hijazi bin Ibrahim al-Syarqawi (1150-1227H), with his book "Hasyiah 'ala Tuhfah al-Thullab bi Syarh. Tanqih al-Lubab".
